Online learning platforms in Ethiopia

Online learning also referred to as e-learning has become the most preferred and easy way of learning to acquire knowledge. Online learning refers to instruction that is delivered electronically through various multimedia and internet platforms. To implement this process an online learning platform, which is a web-based software application proving a virtual environment for learning and teaching is required. It allows instructors and students to interact with each other and access educational materials through the internet without benign physically present. They can be used for formal education, training, and professional development. 

In Ethiopia, there are many emerging e-learning platforms like the ones mentioned above, that are indigenous and rich with a variety of courses. They provide learners with great flexibility, access to educational resources, support,  and new means of interaction. Some of the promising online learning platforms are listed below:

1. ALX

ALX is a leading technology training provider, built to accelerate the careers of young Africans through the technology and professional skills that enable them to thrive in the digital economy. It provides a wide range of training along with its partners – Mastercard Foundation and The Room and provides certification upon completion. ALX has now its own space in Ethiopia, and it is being used by many of the youth in the country to enhance their skills. There are plenty of programs that tach tech skills at ALX. It aims to develop well-rounded tech professionals who are equipped with both the technical proficiencies and soft skills that will enable them to thrive in the future of work.

2. Muyalogy

Muyalogy is another online learning platform that recently emerged, It is an innovative full-service learning platform that produces, markets, and manages online courses in a variety of fields, such as photography, Design, Digital marketing, Cake decoration, … etc. The platform is accessible via web and mobile applications, making it easy to access the course at any given time, from anywhere.

3. Gebeya Traning

Gebye Training is providing a software engineering and IT training academy in Africa, It aims to produce African IT talent and provide online training programs like web, mobile development, graphics, and digital marketing.
